Youtube started blocking ublock origin, so here are some apps that still work:

Youtube frontends and downloaders:

• newpipe - so far the best youtube frontend for android devices
• freetube - desktop app available for pretty much any operating systems,
  with all functions you would like to have while watching youtube
• youtube-dl - simple youtube video downloader written in python, good as long as downloading videos is all you want to do

Youtube alternatives:

• peertube - federated and self-hosted youtube alternative
• odysee - blockchain (eww) video sharing platform wokring on lbry network

All projects here are open source, without trackers and other spooky things. Please note that odysee uses blockchain, which might be a con for most of my audience.
